SRINAGAR, (PTK): A soldier was injured during an encounter between security forces and militants in Kulgam area of South Kashmir, police said. The injured soldier was immediately shifted to a hospital, they added.
According to reports, the security forces launched a search operation in Larro area of Kulgam district of south Kashmir after receiving inputs on the presence of militants in a house in the area. Two to three militants are believed to be hiding inside, the police added.
The militants started firing at the security forces during the search operation, leading to a gunfight.
The encounter comes two days after two militants were killed when they tried to attack the police in the Kralhaar area of Baramulla district in north Kashmir. (PTK)
