Normal life continues to remain cripple for 3rd day in old city Srinagar 

SRINAGAR, OCT 19 (PTK): Normal life remained crippled for the third consecutive today in parts of the Old City here city due to the restrictions imposed by authorities to prevent protests called by joint resistance leadership (JRL) against the alleged atrocities.

Restrictions continue to remain in place in the Old City areas of Nowhatta, Khanyar, Rainawari, Safakadal and Maharaj Gunj in a bid to thwart protests on the JRL call, reports said.

CRPF troopers and police equipped with riot gear and automatic rifles are maintaining a tight vigil in parts of the Old City. At some places, government forces have blocked roads and lanes with razor wire to restrict movement of people, reports said.

Meanwhile, class work in colleges, higher secondary schools and Kashmir University remain suspended today as a ‘precautionary measure’. (PTK)
