Kashmir issue is impacting peace efforts between India, Pakistan: Mukhtar Waza

Srinagar,October 19 (PTK): Senior APHC Leader and Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League Chairman Mukhtar Ahmad Waza has said that the “unresolved Kashmir dispute” is impacting achieving durable peace between India and Pakistan and remains a “blot on the conscience of humanity”.

Mukhtar Ahmad Waza while addressing a gathering at Jamia Masjid Batpora Larnoo in Kokernag said that, “Dialogue is the only way to address long standing issues that have long bedeviled South Asia, and prevented the region from realising its true potential,” he said, adding that the “unresolved Jammu and Kashmir dispute hinders the realisation of the goal of durable peace” between the two countries.

He said that the future of Jammu and Kashmir should and must be determined in accordance with UN SC resolutions”, He stressed and pointed out that this was, “the demand of law, morality and the dictate of the fundamental right to self-determination.”

On the occasion Party members,Shabir Ahmad,Aijaz Ahmad and many others also accompanied Mukhtar Waza. (PTK)
