SRINAGAR, OCT 09 (PTK): Rejecting the election process in the state, Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) on Tuesday said that “this stage-show has neither affected the disputed nature of Jammu Kashmir in future nor it will do so in future.”
“So it is better to concentrate on resolution rather to manage staged shows,” JKDFP said in a statement issued to PTK.
The JKDFP spokesperson said that the people of Kashmir are rightly not part of the election process because they instead strive for the right to self-determination which can never be substituted by the so called elections.
“Had the elections been any solution, there should not have any issue called Kashmir dispute because such stage managed dramas are being conducted from decades together. It is in fact a process through which India activates and empowers its collaborators in the disputed region,” he said.
He said that Kashmiri people have and are rendering tremendous sacrifices to achieve their right to self determination so that they can decide their political future in a fear and free atmosphere.
“The basis of the politics of incarcerated JKDFP chief Shabir Shah is also that people of Jammu Kashmir must be provided an opportunity to decide their political future. It is because of his strong advocacy of the people’s right to self determination that Shabir Shah has been put behind bars in Tihar jail, Delhi despite his serious illness,” JKDFP said.
“However, New Delhi is trying to mislead the international community by conducting so called elections and giving them hype. So it is the foremost duty of the people of Kashmir to remain aloof of this process so that world comes to know about the real issue,” he said.
JKDFP condemned the fresh arrest spree launched by the government forces across the length and breadth of Kashmir aimed to instill fear among the population. (PTK)
