ULB elections: Final Phase training held for polling staff at Kishtwar

KISHTWAR, OCTOBER 08: District Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner) Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana today chaired Final Phase training for Micro-Observers, Zonal/ Sectoral Magistrates, Presiding and Polling Officers for smooth conduct of Municipal Elections 2018 in the district.

The polling for 13 wards of Municipal Committee, Kishtwar are going to be held on 10th October, 2018.

 The DEO exhorted upon all the participants to adhere the Guidelines of ECI in letter and spirit for successful conduct and completion of Municipal Election.

Besides, he directed participants to get fully trained regarding functioning and opertionalization of EVMs and other allied election works.

Briefing about security arrangements, SSP Rajinder Kumar Gupta informed that adequate deployment  have been made for ensuring incident free elections.

Nodal Officer Training Management, Pardeep Koul briefed participants about duties and role of Polling staff.

He asked all the participants to check minutely PO handbook and Manual of EVM.

 Master Trainer Tanveer Malik practically displayed all aspects   about the proper handling of EVMs.

The participants were imparted elaborate training regarding Model Code of Conduct, preparation of polling parties, handling of law and order, training management, EVM, ballot papers, Systematic Voters Education and Electoral participation (SVEEP) and various other guidelines of Election Commission of India (ECI).

The DEO and SSP Kishtwar shared their contact numbers for the general information of the participants.

Later, General Observer, Ashwani Kumar Khajuria, asked the participants to remain keen and pro-active during the election process. He further added that Micro Observers are eye and ear of the election process and they are required to threadbare observe all the activities while reporting.
