SRINAGAR, SEP 29 (PTK): Scores of Higher Secondary Students (Class 11th) from different institutions today staged a protest demonstration against the JKBOSE for conducting their exams under Board supervision.
Students assembled in press enclave in Srinagar chanting slogans against concerned board and holding banners which read, “We want Justice”, “Board exam boycott exams” “Revoke the decision”.
“We don’t know why JKBOSE is conducting an experiment by playing with the future of students,” they said. “It is totally illogical to conduct exams in the prevailing situation. We are not prepared for exams. Students can’t reach their exam centres in absence of transport facilities. We urge the government to postpone the exams till Nov,” protesting students said while talking to Press Trust of Kashmir.

Another students Danish said, “We have not completed syllabus so far so how can we appear in Kashmir as we don’t know about the pattern of exam”. Protesting students said that till now board had not conducted 11th class exam and they will not appear in the exam since they have not completed their syllabus so far. Moreover the concerned schools should conduct their exams as they have been doing.
“We have not completed our syllabus yet but the government is adamant to hold our exams as per their own convenience without considering the students’ point of view. We won’t be able to perform better in exams,” said one of the protesting students.
The students said they will boycott the upcoming annual exams if the date sheet is not rescheduled.
Meanwhile the students of 10th and 12th also oppose date sheet issued by JKBOSE, students said that “we are not ready for exams and demand deferment of exams till November. “We even don’t have completed our 70% of syllabus. It is not possible for any institute to complete 100% syllabus of 12th class within these 20 days”.
He added that even government schools has not completed syllabus”. “This is really going to be big issue, if BOSE will not take any step’, he said.
From last few days, students from class 10th to 12th are seeking deferment of their annual exams to mid-November citing non completion of syllabus in schools.
Director school education Kashmir (DSEK) G N Itoo had earlier written to Secretary JK BOSE and sought deferment of exams to mid- November stating that syllabus of students was not complete in their schools.
When contacted JKBOSE Chairperson Veena Pandita she said “I can’t comment on this”. (PTK)
