SRINAGAR, SEP 27 (PTK): A high-level meeting of Teachers Joint Action Committee (TJAC) was held at its Central Office, Srinagar under the chair of President EJAC, Chairman Teachers Joint Action Committee Ab. Qayoom Wani.
In the meeting, leaders of all the affiliated organizations of TJAC were present.
In a statement issued to PTK, all the leaders apprised the participants in the meeting about the meeting held between the leaders of TJAC lead by State President of EJAC, TJAC Abdul Qayoom Wani, Governor of the State at Rajbhawan in which Advisor to Governor Khursheed Ahmad Ganaie, Secretary Education Ajit Kumar Sahoo, Director School Education Dr. G.N .Itoo, Director SAMAGRA Tufail Matoo were present.
Wani said that “we put forth our view point regarding the implementation of 7th Pay Commission, Linking of Salaries to State budget & creation of posts with legal and moral justification and succeeded in convincing Governor about the issues.”
“Governor was convinced by our argument and the Governor issued on spot directions for implementation of 7th Pay Commission in favour of SSA Teachers, Head Teachers, and RMSA Masters & Headmasters and advised Advisor to attend the camp of hunger strike teachers and announce the decision of the Government,” he said.
Wani and other leaders in the meeting hailed the positive approach and decision of Governor of the State, regarding 7th Pay Commission issue, the leaders also thanked Advisor Khursheed Ahmad Ganaie, Secretary School Education Ajit Kumar Sahoo, Director School Education Kashmir Dr. G.N. Itoo, Director SAMAGRA Tufail Ahmad Mattoo, Director School Education Jammu Rakesh Kumar Sarangal for their support in resolving this sensitive issue.
After the decision from Governor of the State, which was announced by Advisor Khursheed Ahmad Ganaie at Partap Park Srinagar in front of the leaders and Teachers at Hunger Strike, Teachers Joint Action Committee called off its Hunger Strike.
Wani hailed the courage and dedication of teachers and leaders of Teachers Joint Action Committee who showed their commitment with the cause for last so many months during protest rallies, candle light marches and hunger strike from 30th August at Press club Jammu and from 3rd September at Partap Park Srinagar.
EJAC President also hailed the support of civil society, all religious organizations, Traders Organizations, Kashmir Economic Alliance, Chamber of Commerce, Political and Non-Political Parties, All trade federations, All trade unions, Social Activists, Private School Associations, Social Organizations, All Party Sikh Coordination Committee, Doctor’s Association, College Professors Association, School Education Coordination Committee, Print and Electronic media, Journalists, Educationists, NGO’s, Students, Parents especially all leaders of Employees Joint Action Committee besides people from all walks of life for their moral support and encouragement for our just and sincere cause.
