Family from Kupwara claims kin among militants killed in Bandipora gunfight

SRINAGAR, SEP 25 (PTK): A family from Rang Warnow area of Kupwara district in North Kashmir on Tuesday claimed that one of the militants Mohammad Sidiq Sountra @Abu Usman killed in Sumlar Bandipora gunfight was their kin.

We have approached the police that one of the slain militants in Bandipora identified as Mohammad Sidiq Sountra son of Late Rajqb Sountra a resident of Rang Warnow is our kin,” Mohammad Qasim, brother of the slain militant told PTK.

He said that Sidiq has joined militancy in early 90’s and on the photographic evidence we came to know about his killing. SSP Kupwara Ambarker shriram dinker told PTK that a family from Rang Warnow approached them with the claim that one of the militants killed in Bandipora gunfight was their kin.

 “We have asked them to approach Bandipora police as this case pertains to them” SSP Kupwara said. 

Pertinently three families two from south Kashmir districts of Shopian and Kulgam and one from Ganderbal approached the deputy commissioner Bandipora claiming that their kin were among the five slain militants. (PTK)
