Srinagar, September 19 (PTK): The Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League today during party convention discussed the present political situation of Kashmir Valley.
Party chairman Mukhtar Ahmad Waza while addressing party convention urged India and Pakistan to initiate meaningful and result-oriented dialogue process for peaceful settlement of Kashmir dispute.
He said that the lingering Kashmir dispute should be resolved politically instead of military might.
He said that the unresolved Kashmir dispute has halted the prospects of development and a better future in the region.
Mukhtar Waza on occasion also welcomed the statement of UN rights chief Michelle Bachelet in which she slammed India for lack of any ‘meaningful improvement’ on addressing issues highlighted in the UN report on human rights violations in Kashmir. (PTK)
