Sc and PG Nursing Students of SKIMS stages protest to demand release of arrested student

Srinagar, SEP 15 (PTK): B. Sc and PG Nursing Students of Sher-e- Kashmir Institute of Medical Science (SKIMS) Soura, Saturday staged a protest demonstration here in Srinagar demanding  release of Iqbal Ahmad Rather, who was arrested by the police on Srinagar Jammu Highway.

Scores of protesters from SKIMS assembled here in Press enclave and shouted slogans in favour of Iqbal Ahmad Rather, a resident central Kashmir’s Budgam.

 

The protesters said that Iqbal is a B. Sc student of Nursing at SKIMS College. He has seven sisters at his home. He was going to Jammu for medical purposes because his father is suffering from cancer.

 

Amir Bashir, one of the protesting students said that the allegations against Iqbal are totally baseless. “He is innocent. We know Iqbal and he is not involved in any case,” he said.

 

The protesting student appealed the governor to immediately release Iqbal. (PTK)
