Congress, Communist party stages protest against rising fuel prices

SRINAGAR, SEP 10 (PTK): The state unit of Congress party and the left wing Communist Party of India (M) on Monday staged a protest in response to the Bharat Bandh called against the rising fuel prices across India.

Scores of Congress workers led by JKPCC President Ghulam Ahmad Mir this afternoon assembled at Lal Chowk, the commercial hub of this capital city and staged demonstration against the BJP led government. Chanting slogans against PM Modi, the protesters blocked Maulana Azad Road causing disruption in the smooth flow of traffic.

“All the promises made by PM Modi have turned out to be a hoax. A common man is facing brunt of anti-people policies of Modi government,” Mir said.

A similar protest was carried out by CPI (M) leader Mohammad Yousuf Targami at the Press Enclave here.

“Is the current situation in India the dream that Modi had shown to people of country?” Tarigami asked

“PM Modi has made the lives of common people miserable. It is high time for PM to step down,” he added. (PTK)
