Hunger strike leaves condition of many teachers critical

SRINAGAR, SEP 08 (PTK): Participation of teachers across the state to show solidarity with the teachers at hunger strike is increasing day by day and has provided moral boost to the teachers at hunger strike at Pratap Park Srinagar and press club Jammu.

Wani while addressing the teachers and hunger strike leaders said that teaching community has decided to continue its peaceful agitation and hunger strike till the implementation of 7th pay commission on SSA teachers, Head teachers and RMSA masters and linking of their salaries with state sector. Wani appealed the community to leave the differences aside and join the struggle given by the leadership of TJAC at state level for the restoration of rights, dignity and honour of teaching community.

Wani also thanked all the political and religious organizations, trade union leaders, civil society members, leaders of traders federation, scholars, academicians, private school organizations, parents, students, media journalists, educationists, leaders of Kashmir economic alliances for their moral and physical support both at Srinagar and Jammu.

Wani said that teacher’s joint action committee is going to hold a press conference on Monday 12 noon at Pratap park Srinagar to announce a unique programme besides continuous hunger strike.

Wani while speaking with the media urged upon the govt. To implement 7th pay commission so that the chaos and confusion in the department will end and teaching fraternity may get a sigh of relief.

Wani said that TJAC never wanted confrontation and always gave preference to result oriented negotiation but silence of govt always proved counterproductive. Mr Wani again appealed to his excellency governor of the state satya pal Malik, honourable advisers to governor Khursheed Ahmad Ganai, shri B B  vyas, worthy chief secretary BVR subramaniyam, worthy secretory education Rigzin sampheal for immediate redressel of issues of teaching community for the larger interest of society in general and student community in particular.

Wani hailed the unity of teaching community in all the three regions of the state under the banner of TJAC and hailed the role of TJAC leaders for their tireless efforts to get the problems of SSA teachers, head teachers and RMSA masters resolved.

The leaders of TJAC Gazi Abdul Aziz, Mohd. Akbar Khan, Mohammed Rafiq Rather, Salim Sagar, Shah Fayaz,Mohammad Afzal Bhat, Ashiq Rasool, Shabir Ahamd Bhat, Peer Nisar Ahmad, Qayoom sanahi, Hatim Qayoom, Arsallan Habib, Reyazul Rehman, Mohammed Akbar Dar , Javid Wagoori, Hatim Qayoom,Qayoom sanayi ,Gulzar Ahamd Dar, shah Ashiq also spoke to the hundreds of teachers.
