Construction of residential houses at ‘Kachi Chari’ land in Baramulla, authorities in slumber

SRINAGAR SEP 05 (PTK): In an blunt violation of rules , construction of residential houses is going on at Kachi Chari land in Kanli Bagh locality of Baramulla district under the very nose of authorities.

Sources told Press Trust of Kashmir (PTK) that residents of the area have complained before the administration and revenue officials regarding the violation, but no action was taken so far. They added that some of the revenue officials are hand in glove with the encroaches who are constructing houses.

Adding that a construction of house can be seen at Khasra under survey number 1664 besides several other people have also extracted land to prepare a residential plot on Kachi Chari land in the area.

Sources told PTK that the conversion of arable land, agricultural land is going unabated in district Baramulla with the authorities are seen in deep slumber.  They added that the land banned for constriction continues to shrink as the same is bluntly used for commercial and residential purposes under the very nose of authorities.

While in villages people unaware of consequences of fast conversion of agricultural land in to residential areas choose places as per their wish without any hindrance from authorities at the helm of affairs.


Earlier last week when contact Deputy Commissioner Dr. Nasir Ahmad Naqash he told Press Trust of Kashmir that there is nothing like that happen in the district. When asked about the particular Khasra under survey number 1664, he shows ignorance while quickly adding, “I will check”. He added that they are monitoring the constructions.

 

Ironically district administrations have not taken any action so far.

When PTK contacted Moeen Ahamd Kakroo Tehsildar Baramulla he said that “I will take Strict action if something like this is happening in my area. He said now you have brought the matter into my notice I will visit the spot to check if any violation is been done”.  (PTK)
