SRINAGAR, SEP 03 (PTK): A complete shutdown was observed today in Boniyar area of this border town Uri against the alleged murder of a minor girl.
All shops and business establishments remained closed in the area against the alleged murder of 9-year-old Muskan Jan, whose body was found in Trikanjan forest on Sunday, ten days after she went missing.

While police maintain the girl was apparently killed by a wild animal, the locals allege that the minor was murdered. Angry protesters blocked Srinagar-Muzaffarabad highway demanding arrest of minor’s murderer, witnesses said.
Later, police team visited the spot and assured locals of a transparent investigation. Following assurances of probe, the protesters lifted the blockade of highway. (PTK)
