BJP gears for urban local body’s election in South Kashmir: Ashok Kaul

Srinagar Sep 3 (PTK): Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) State General Secretary (Org.)  Ashok Kaul holds a vital meeting in Anantnag on Monday with it workers asking them to gear up for the upcoming urban local body election. The local body polls could be used to test the waters for holding Assembly elections and necessary to weed out corruption from the system.

Large number of party workers belonging to distant parts of South Kashmir including district presidents, constituency presidents, and other senior leaders also participated in the meeting and aware the party about the measures which are necessary for the success.

Sh. Ashok Kaul while addressing the meeting said “BJP has a deep concern for the people of J&K and is committed to taking all possible measures to bring accountability and transparency in the system with a renewed focus on good governance and development, the Centre is looking forward to kindle new aspirations and hopes amongst the people of the State”.

“The solution to problems lies in empowerment of the people and strengthening the institutions of local self-government”, he added.

During the meeting (MLC) Sofi Yousuf said “The urban local body election ensures developed and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir, help to bring peace and normalcy in the State”.

“BJP aims to bring peace, stability and prosperity through an honest, effective and efficient administration for the problems facing by the State. There are 78 urban local bodies in J&K, which includes two municipal corporations in Jammu and Srinagar”, he added.

The meeting was organized by the BJP District president Anantnag Sh. Rafiq Ahmad Wani in Anantnag. Wani said that we have completed all preparations and are ready to put up a good show in the upcoming urban local body pools.

State Executive Member, Rumaisa Rafiq facilitated General Secretary (Org.) Sh. Ashok Kaul in district office Anantnag in front of the party workers for getting her position extended for 3 yrs more.
