TJAC leadership meets Advisor (G)

Implementation of 7th Pay Commission in favour of teachers, linking of their salaries with State sector remained core issues in discussion

Srinagar, Aug 29 (PTK): A high level delegation of Teachers Joint Action Committee (TJAC) headed by Senior JCC leader, President EJAC and Chairman Teachers Joint Action Committee Ab Qayoom Wani was called by Advisor to Governor Khursheed Ahmad Ganie at his office Civil Secretariat Srinagar at 11 a m.

Director School Education Kashmir Gh Nabi Itoo was also present in the meeting besides the leaders of TJAC Gazi Ab Aziz, Mohd Akbar Khan, Mohd Rafeeq Rather, Riyazul Rehman, Mohd Afzal Bhat, Shah Fayaz, Pir Nisar Ahmad, Saleem Sagar, Ab Qayoom sanaie, Hatim Qayoom and others participated in the meeting.

The leaders of TJAC Ganesh Khajuria, Vinod Sharma and other could not attend the meeting due to blockade of national highway.

In the meeting the implementation of 7th Pay Commission in favour of SSA teachers, Head teachers and RMSA Masters and linking of their salaries with State sector remained core issues in the discussion, and threadbare discussion on these issues was held in a two hour long meeting.

The delegation highlighted these demands in a detailed manner with logic and legal justification and also apprised the Advisor about the pathetic condition of SSA teachers, Head teachers and RMSA Masters and social and economic problems they are facing for the last three years.

The Advisor to Governor had remained always an employee friendly officer during his service career and resolved so many issues of Employees, gave a patient hearing to the genuine demands and showed positive approach with interest in resolving these issues and also apprised the delegation about the initiatives taken by Education Department for redressal of these demands. Advisor assured the delegation that we have prioritized these issues and he is going to meet His Excellency Governor of the state to appraise him about the genuineness of these issues and their redressal at an earliest.

The delegation apprised the Advisor about the sensitiveness of the issues and emotions of teaching fraternity attached with these issues.

Wani also told the Advisor that teaching fraternity never wanted confrontation and are very serious about the future of our students and want to be in the classes instead of hitting the roads.

He also apprised the Advisor that Teachers, Head Teachers and Masters working under SSA and RMSA are putting their sweat and blood for shaping the future of their students and they deserve appreciation and resolution of these issues.
EJAC President also assured the Advisor that any positive step taken towards the resolution of these demands will be welcomed and teachers have always shown discipline in difficult situations for highlighting the genuine issues and TJAC will continue to highlight these demands with discipline, maturity and will explore other options for resolving the issues.
Wani said that TJAC has already announced peaceful hunger Strike from 3rd September and are waiting for positive initiatives from Govt so that Teachers may have a sigh of relief.

Chairman TJAC thanked the Advisor for his employee friendly approach and initiatives for early redressal of these issues.

Director school Education Gh Nabi Itoo also pleaded the case and advocated the sentiments and demands of teaching fraternity before Advisor. He also apprised the Advisor about the initiatives and recommendations taken at Directorate level.

Wani also thanked Director Education for his serious concern in resolving the issues. (PTK)
