3-Day Workshop for teachers organized at J&K Police Public School, Miran Sahib, Jammu

Srinagar, 06 August (PTK): J&K Police Public School, Miran Sahib, Jammu strives to train not only the young minds but also the teachers to meet the needs of the students to shape them into better human beings. Under its constant endeavor of teacher training programme, the school organized a 3-Day Workshop on Theatre and Education, conducted by Ms Delight Sarah William who is an alumnus of St. Stephens’ College and is a renowned theater personality emerging on the national landscape of artistic domain. Her 16 years of theater experience has exposed her to the hub of theater in the country where she has performed critical performances and has been highly rated by the art critics. She has worked in Step by Step School, Noida and has two years’ experience at National School of Drama, New Delhi.

The 3-Day Workshop from 3rd to 5th of August was based on the role of drama in making the classroom experience fun-filled, innovative and creative for the learners keeping their myriad cognitive and emotional needs in mind. The workshop emphasized on the importance of empathetic and innovative teachers in the life of a student. The workshop was based on including drama tools to the normal class room teaching in various subjects’ viz. languages, Social Science, Activity Period, etc. It was an enlightening experience for the teachers who got a chance to reflect upon their teaching strategies. Certificates of participation were distributed to the teachers to encourage them.

The workshop indeed is a new initiative in the field of education by Ms Delight Sarah William. The school wishes her luck and success in her mission. (PTK)
