Sopore militant laid to rest in native graveyard

Baramulla, August 03(PTK)..Slain militant Reyaz Ahmad son of Mohd Akbar Dar resident of Naseerabad Sopore affiliated with Jaish-e-Mohammad was laid to rest amid heavy slogans and clashes.
Chanting anti-india and pro-freedom slogans hundrads of people took part in funeral and participated in the last rites of Reyaz at Dar uloom ground in Maharajpora sopore.

As per local sources heavy clashes erupted in sopore soon after the news of Reyas’s death spread in the area. He further added that police fired teargas shells towards the people who were assembled to bury the slain militant near his native graveyard.

Reyas was gunned down by indian forces in a brief encounter at Drusoo area of sopore in north kashmirs baramulla district tuesday morning.

As per reports after spending two years in jail on charges of Public Safety Act Reyas, was recently released who later joined militant ranks in July, 2018.
Riyaz Ahmad was the lone son of his family. He is survived by a sister and old age parents.
The encounter began after the militants opened fire on security forces during a cordon and search operation in Dursoo village, Rafiabad area in which another militant Khursheed Ahmad Malik son of Ghulam Nabi Malik of Arabal Nikas, Pulwama was also gunned down.
Moreover soldier Sepoy Vijay Kumar of army’s 22 RR was also killed and a policeman Irfan Ahmad Wani was injured in this operation, a police officer said while taking to PTK.(PTK)
