SRINAGAR, (PTK): Gunshots were heard as soon as government forces launched a search and cordon operation in Shumriyal forest area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
An official said that gunshots were heard from Shumriyal forest after forces launched an operation in the area following inputs about the presence of militants. It was not immediately clear whether it was speculative firing by the forces or the militants fired on them.
