Sikh Community held a Protest in Mattan

SRINAGAR, (PTK): Hundreds of peoples on Wednesday blocked the Khanabal-Pahalgam road at Mattan in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district to demand arrest of culprits involved in abduction of two minor girls from the area.

The protesters said that two minor school girls of the Sikh community boarded a vehicle after mistaking it for a taxi around 9:30 am in Mattan area on Tuesday.

The girls were recovered several hours later at around 2 pm from Aloochi Bagh area of Srinagar in an unconscious state.

Meanwhile, a police official confirmed that a case, vide FIR number 55 under section 363 RPC has been registered at Mattan police station.

“We are investigating the case,” said the official.

He said the medical examination of the girls has been conducted and it has ruled out any sexual assault. (PTK)
