SRINAGAR, JULY 24 (PTK): Following cloudbursts and flash floods in the higher reaches, triggered by incessant rains in Hayan, Kangan area of Ganderbal District.
The River Sindh flows through most parts of Kangan areas like Hayan, Thune and people in many areas live near the banks of the river. So far reports said that there is huge loss of Agriculture land in Hayan.
Local sources told Press Trust of Kashmir that “Irrigation and flood control department always ignore people of living in the banks of the river”. They added that so far no one form the department come and check situation”.

When contact AEE Irrigation and Flood control department Imtiyaz Ali Sofi he told Press Trust of Kashmir that “department can’t do anything as govt have got a project but due to non-available of funds govt can’t approve the project so far”.
He further told PTK that “Forest department is also responsible for this issue as they have not allowed NOC from years”. He said that “as there is some forest land in the areas we need NOC so that we can do further work”.
