Congress Party is committed to equitable development of all the three regions of the Sate: Usman Majid

SRINAGAR, JULY 22 (PTK): State General Secretary of Pradesh Congress Committee and MLA Bandipora Usman Majid on today said that Congress Party is committed to equitable development of all the three regions of the Sate.

Usman asserted that it is the Congress Party alone which is representing the aspirations of the people fully and will continue to work for the equitable development of all the three regions of the J&K state.

Pertinently, in a major success for Congress in Bandipora, a number of political persons including a Former  Sarpanch of village Athwatoo Gh Rasool lone and Prominent political person of sonarwani area Gh Nabi shah today joined congress during a party meetings convened under the leadership of Pradesh Congress Committee General Secretary & MLA Bandipora Usman Majid at Villages Athwatoo & Sonarwani in Bandipora constituency.

Elaborating on their decision to quit the party, Both the PDP Activists said the PDP was playing with the lives of Kashmiri people and with their dignity and honour. “This is the reason that we have resigned from the party and joined the Congress,”

Both the Political Activists termed anti-poor people policies of People’s Democratic Party as a reason for them to skip party and to join Congress. They even said that majority of promises made by both BJP-PDP before polls have fallen flat.

Newly Entrants praised the contribution of Congress Party especially Usman Majid in the socio-economic transformation of the Erstwhile in particular and State in general, saying the party has been pioneer in implementing revolutionary programmes aimed at improving the conditions of the people, especially those living in remote and backward areas. Expressing faith in the programmes and policies of Usman Majid, they pledged to strengthen the Party in Bandipora.

Usman said while welcoming, PDP Activists Ghualm Rasool lone and Ghualm Nabi Shah of Sonawari area along With Workers into party fold. Majid while hailing the decision of  the activists to join the congress party, said Congress stands for unity, brotherhood and amity of the three regions of the State.

He hoped that the newly joined workers would work with enthusiasm to strengthen the party at grass-root level and will spread the policy programme of the Congress.

Majid exhorted the Party Cadres to remain united to defeat the anti-people and wrong policies of the Previous dispensation responsible for the current fiasco in the Valley, he added.

Usman Majid described the PDP-BJP dispensation as anti-poor and anti development, saying due to administrative inertia and lack of political direction the sufferings of the people have increased manifold during over past three years. The insensitive coalition government has pushed people to the wall, as unemployment has increased, prices have risen and developmental activities have suffered a huge dent”, he added. (PTK)
