Postpone Amarnath yatra to next year, says Sri Sri Ravi Shankar
SRINAGAR, (PTK): Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has asked Amarnath yatries to postpone their yatra till next year in view of recent tragedies.
“Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has issued an advisory for the benefit of pilgrims to postpone their Amarnath Yatra to next year in the wake of recent tragedies. Heavy rains and landslides that have disrupted both the routes to the holy cave and have thus marred the Yatra”, said a spokesman of Art of Living.
The spokesman noted that despite the best efforts from the chairman of Amarnath Shrine Board Governor NN Vohra, Army and Border Security Forces, it is unlikely that the roads will become suitable for travel in the near future.
“Pilgrims who have reached already are facing extreme difficulties and it is advised that those planning for Shri Amarnath Yatra reconsider their travel plans and invoke Bholenath through meditation and prayer from where they are,” said Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, who’s also a member of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB).
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s advisory notwithstanding, around 13,767 yatris paid obeisance at the Holy Cave on the 13th day of the ongoing Shri Amarnathji Yatra on Tuesday.
