Kupwara: Trehgam on boil over youth’s death in Army firing

Kupwara, July 11(PTK)Hours after the killing of a 20-year-old youth in Trehgam by the Army, the town erupted in protests today that left many people injured.
A 20-year-old youth was killed allegedly in government forces firing at Trehgam area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on wednesday evening.

According to locals of trehgam town army allegedly opened fire after some youth pelted stones at their vehicles.

20 year old youth namely Khalid Gafar (20) son of Abdul Gafar Malik of bunpora trehgam suffered grave injuries and were taken to nearby hospital, they said.

However, Khalid, a shopkeeper by profession succumbed later, they said.

A police officer confirmed the death of youth in the town.

Minutes after News about the youth’s killing spread, massive protests erupted in Trehgam and adjoining areas which were going on before the filling of this report(PTK)
