Monga condemns Kulgam killings

Srinagar, July 7(PTK): While strongly condemning the killings of two boys and a teenage girl in Kulgam area of South Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) vice president and MLC G N Monga today said such killings alienate people of Kashmir further and can worsen situation further.
In a statement to press issued in Srinagar Monga while expressing shock and grief over repeated killings of civilians in the Valley said, “It has become a norm now. Almost every day innocent civilians are being killed in Kashmir which must be a cause of concern for every right thinking person in the country. The killings of civilians have the potential to alienate people further which is a dangerous sign.”
“The security forces must follow the standard operating procedures (SOPs) while dealing with stone pelting. There are other simple methods to quell protests. Security forces must make a distinction between civilians and militants. Killing protesters has no justification,” he said.
“There can be no condemnation strong enough to condemn such a killing,” he said while expressing solidarity with the victim families(PTK)
