Yasin Malik detained ahead of protest shutdown

SRINAGAR, (PTK): Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief Yasin Malik was detained from his residence in Srinagar on Monday.

A spokesman of the outfit said that Malik was arrested from his Maisuma residence early Monday morning and lodged at Kothibagh police station.

Senior Hurriyat (M) leader and chairman Peoples’ Political Party (PPP) Er Hilal Ahmad War was put under detention at his Maisuma residence.

The detentions come in the wake of a protest shutdown called by the Joint Resistance Leadership against continuous civilian killings in the valley. (PTK)
