SRINAGAR: Hurriyat (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was placed under house arrest on Monday to prevent him from leading any demonstrations against the civilian killings, said a spokesman.

The Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik has called for a protest shutdown today against the continuous civilian killings in the valley. (PTK)
