Baramulla youth festival held by Army

Baramulla, June 24 (PTK): Youth Festival held at Shaukat Ali Stadium, Khawaja Bagh area of north Kashmirs Baramulla district on Sunday.
A series of programes were held at grass root level to bring forth the talent of local youths.
In a talent hunt drive by army, a total of twenty nine participants across all age groups in variety of events were selected for performing in front of talented and experienced judges. Five finalists were selected to perform during the main event of ‘Baramulla Youth Festival’ held on 24 June.
The final event of ‘Baramulla Youth Festival’ was today organised for the Awam and Youth in particular by the Army on 24 Jun 2018 kicked off to a enthusiastic response and mass participation at Shoukat Ali Stadium, Baramulla.
Indian Star Ms Gauhar Khan for ‘Women Empowerment’ and Indian Cricket Icon Mr Irfan Pathan for ‘Youth Empowerment’ were the star attraction and added much to fanfare to the event.
The multifaceted event hosting range of events included a Job Fair by 11 prominent companies wherein ‘Walk-in-Interviews’ and immediate Job placements were offered to the Youth was fundamental in meeting aspirations of the talented Youth of the region. The Sufi Musical Concert by Amir Group, and Wasim Raza Group, reflecting upon rich culture, traditions and values of Kashmiriyat added to the glitter of the day.
Free Medical Camp attended to the medical needs of about 2000 persons, thus reassuring Awam of continued support by the Army.
The Paramotor display conducted for the Youth also motivated them to join security forces and take part in various adventure sports.
Among other attractions, the delicacies of Khana Khazana Food Plaza, from famous food joints of Srinagar and Baramulla were relished greatly by the populace. The Children’s Corner with Joy Rides was also a major crowd puller. The Girls Football exhibition match emerged as a major hit and also helped in turning the focus of young girls towards sports.
Speaking on the occasion, Lt Gen AK Bhatt, AVSM, SM, VSM, GOC, Chinar Corps emphasized upon the rich culture and history of Kashmir and lauded the hardwork, resilience and temperament of Kashmiris even in the face of adversities. The GOC, Chinar Corps also took this opportunity to exhort the youth to channelize their energy towards nation building and betterment of society.
Mr Mohd Hassan Beigh, MLA Baramulla, Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash, DC, Jenab Imtiyaz Hussain, DIG North Kashmir, SSP and CMO Baramulla also attended the event besides various prominent personalities of Baramulla Town. (PTK)
