Teachers under SSA stages in different parts of Valley, blames Govt. for callous attitude

SRINAGAR, JUNE 09 (PTK):Up in arms against much delay in release of salaries of teachers under SSA, they blame State Government for callous attitude towards their genuine issues.

Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum today held strong protest demonstration in different parts of the State. In Anantnag, Hundreds of teachers protested in south Kashmir’s Anantnag against the alleged non cooperative attitude of the government on fulfilling their demands.

The protest was organised by Teacher’s Forum Anantnag and SSA Teachers urging government to delink the salaries of SSA teachers.

Starting from sports stadium Anantnag the demonstration ended in Deputy Commissioner’s office complex and later on a memorandum was presented to DC Anantnag by the protesting teachers.

The protesting teachers at Anantnag raised slogans against the Government and in support of their demands, which included; immediate release of salary grants, regularization of ReTs, who have completed five years of service, adjustment of promoted Lecturers and Masters, promotion of Masters as Head Masters, removal of pay anomalies of Masters Grade, regularization of officers in Education Department, etc.

While taking to Press Trust of Kashmir protesting teachers said that we appealed the Chief Minister to intervene directing the concerned authorities to release salaries of teachers working under SSA.

In Bandipora, A massive rally of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) and General Line Teachers was organised in north Kashmir’s Bandipora Saturday for pressing for their “genuine demands.”

Under the banners of The United Forum teachers from all zones of Bandipora district marched from main chowk to mini secretariat where they shouted slogans against the government.

The protesting teachers threatened to lock the schools from 11th of June till 13th if their demands of de-linking their salaries was not fulfilled and salaries were not regularized.

The teachers gathered in the mini secretariat lawn where the sit in protest was going on.

In Baramulla, Hundreds of teachers protested in North Kashmir Baramulla, Sopore against the alleged non cooperative attitude of the government on fulfilling their demands.

In Budgam, The Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) teachers staged a protest against the government for not streamlining their salaries in Budgam.

Shouting slogans in support of their demands, they appealed the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to personally intervene into the matter and issue a necessary order for the immediate release of their pending salary besides streamlining the same by delinking the salary budget from the source of funding.

Protester while taking to Press Trust of Kashmir said that “We demand the immediate release of our salaries and on one hand government speaks about improving standards of education while on the other hand, they are doing injustice with us.”

When contact Farooq Ahmad Tantry while taking to Press Trust of Kashmir said that all primary schools, Middle schools across Kashmir will be closed on 11, 13, 14 June.

He further added that “Eid will be observed as black day and teacher will march towards Chief Minister’s residence”. (PTK)
