If SSA teachers demands not fulfilled, protest programs will intensify:  Ab. Qayoom Wani

SRINAGAR, JUNE 09 (PTK): The Chairman Teachers Forum Ab. Qayoom Wani termed the Mega protest in all the 3 regions as an eye opener for the State government. This protest was solely held for the implementation of 7th Pay Commission on SSA Teachers/Head Teachers and linking of their salaries with the State Sector.

He termed the massive participation of teachers as a first step towards success. “The Teachers were shouting slogans for the resolution of their legitimate issues and it was made clear if the issue of SSA Teachers and Head teachers is not resolved, the protest programmes shall be intensified” , he said.

After getting the details from District Headquarters the chairman J&K Teachers Forum Abdul Qayoom Wani asked the Government to implement the 7th Pay commission and delink the salary of SSA Teachers without any delay and this chronic issue should be resolved at the earliest. Mr. Wani termed the non implementation of 7th.

He said, Pay Commission on SSA Teachers/Head Teachers as illogical, illegal and dictatorial step, which won’t be tolerated under any circumstances. It is unfortunate that teachers working in the same Department with same grade and pay on regular establishment cannot be debarred from the provision which CSR has guaranteed to them and disparity cannot be justified”.

Wani urged the State Chief minister to take personal interest in this delicate issue and settle it once for all so that Teachers are not compelled to hit the roads.

Ab. Qayoom Wani strongly condemned the Kautlian state craft of not implementation 7th Pay Commission on SSA & Head Teachers. A joint session of Joint leadership of Teachers Forum, RET Forum; SSA Teachers is being called on 10/06/2018 at Central Office to announce the future course & protest programme.

Wani stressed upon all the Stakeholders to maintain unity at all levels and implement the programme of united platform at grass root level.

Wani thanked from the core of heart all Central, Provincial, District, Zonal level leaders, SSA Teachers, Head Teachers, Delegates, Teacher friendly people and organizations for their support and efforts in making this historic protest a grand success at grass root level. (PTK)
