Press Trust of Kashmir | Srinagar : Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested two drug peddlers in Sopore area of North Kashmir

A joint naka by PC Rafiabad and PP Watergam led by D O PSI Bilal Rashid under the close supervision of SDPO Rafiabad and SHO Police Station Dangiwacha was laid at Ladoora crossing during naka checking, a vehicle Maruti 800 was intercepted and team was able to recover 400 grams of charas like substance from their possession, he said.

However, the accused persons have been arrested on spot which were identified as 1. Myser Ramzan Lone S/O Muhammad Ramzan R/O Naidhal Rafiabad and 2. Rayees Ahmad Sheikh S/O Ghulam Rasool R/O Tragpora Rafiabad and the said vehicle in which they were traveling has been seized, he added.

Accordingly case FIR No. 46/2022 U/S 8/20, 29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Dangiwacha and investigation has been initiated, he said.

Sopore Police continuing requests general public to come forward with information regarding drug peddlers of their areas so that drug menace can be eradicated from the Police District Sopore.:-PTK.
