SRINAGAR, JAN 22 (PTK):The undergraduate third-year student from different colleges on Monday stages a protest demonstration outside press enclave in Srinagar against the alleged flawed results.
A large number of students assembled outside press colony accusing Kashmir University of unfair results. “We have started our first semester in 2016 and now when we are in the third semester, the results of our first semester exams are out. Even after such a delay, the results are shocking for all the students as majority of the Students have failed,” said a student.
The students further accused University authorities of misplacing their papers and the controller examination of not responding to students, when we asked him to show us our answer sheets he arrogantly refused by saying “do whatever you want, I’m not going to show anything,” said another protestor.
Meanwhile Police used force to disperse college students protesting at Maulana Azad road in Srinagar against the discrepancies in their results.
Police swung into action after the protesting students blocked the busy Maulana Azad road to press for their demands. Earlier, the students blocked a road outside the Kashmir University to protest against the varsity authorities for declaring them unsuccessful in more than one subject in recently declared results.
The students were demanding photocopies of their answer-sheets. The result of the first semester examination was declared on January 19 and that too after one and half year, they said.
Meanwhile, Minister for Education, Syed Altaf Bukhari while reacting over the protests held by college students against the discrepancies said the government will take action against the officials involved in “creating this mess.” He also appealed to the students to return to their homes. (PTK)
