Mumbai: Bollywood celebrities have expressed their disgust over the Kathua rape case and have asked for justice for the minor. Celebrities like Sonam Kapoor, Richa Chadha, Farhan Akhtar among others took to Twitter to voice out their anger.
“Ashamed appalled and disgusted by fake nationals and fake Hindus. I cannot believe this is happening in my country,” wrote the ‘Veerey Di Wedding’ star.
“Imagine what goes through the mind of an 8 yr old as she is drugged, held captive, gang raped over days and then murdered. If you don’t feel her terror, you are not human. If you don’t demand Asifa get justice, you belong to nothing,” tweeted Farhan.
“LET THE WORLD KNOW WE DEFEND OUR RAPISTS,we commit atrocities in places of worship and desecrate the Flag. Thank God international press isn’t for sale.Hopefully bad PR may get the administration to act?Also,a woman as a CM is such a poor joke @mehbooba.Aisi bhi kya alliance?”, said the ‘Fukrey’ star.

Rape is an act of violence. It should be banned.

Talking about the incident, Bollywood actress Mallika Sherawat expressed her concern about the recent rapes in the country. She said that news of such incidents is finding a place on the front page of the newspaper.
She also said that how growth can take place when female and children of the nation are not safe. She further said that gang rapes are taking place in the religion.
Talking about the Unnao rape case, she said that leaders ask for votes with a promise to protect the citizens, however, they are involving in such crimes. “There is no fear of the law”, she added.
She termed the heinous crime which took place in Kathua as “Crime against humanity”. She questioned, “Do 8-year-old girl knows what is Hindu and Muslim?”. She also asked, “Why victim is always questioned?”
When asked do you support the proposal to hang culprits who rape minor girl, she said, “Absolutely, I support this”. She also said, “Not only me but entire India supports it”.
Commenting on the system, she said that nothing is going to change. There was a hope that such crimes will not repeat after Nibhaya incident, she added.
It may be mentioned that in the month of January, eight-year-old Asifa, belonging to a nomadic Muslim tribe in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir, was allegedly abducted, drugged, raped, and killed. Her body was found a week later.
