Budget is mere a dream, fails to fulfill commitments of agenda of alliance: Akbar Lone

SRINAGAR, JAN 14 (PTK): Senior National Conference (NC) leader and former Jammu Kashmir Speaker Mohammad Akbar Lone said that the government has shown dreams to employees in the budget.

He told PTK that they are playing with the people of Jammu and Kashmir adding that they are ungrateful with the people of state. He added that in pervious budget they showed dreams and same thing they have done in latest budget.

He said that the budget outrightly fails to implement any commitment made in the Agenda of Alliance of BJP and PDP. He added that the youngsters are the worst hit by the violence and main focus of the budget should have been youth. “But unfortunately, the PDP-BJP government has ignored the youth, who are at the receiving end”, he said.

He further said that there was no suggestion of a framework to tackle the unemployment problem in the budget. “No policy framework has been suggested to address this huge and vulnerable problem. In absence of other viable avenues, government sector is the only area which provides some opportunity of employment generation”, he said.

He said thousands of cases regarding payment of monthly financial assistance under various social welfare schemes were pending in every district and budgetary support should have been earmarked for one-time settlement of these cases.

He asked that why they can’t take power project back from GOI. “What they are going to do to take power project back from GOI”, he said. (PTK)
